Natural understanding and peace
These young people from various countries around the Mediterranean basin will have come aboard either at Alexandria, Larnaca, Antalya or finally Istanbul, to take part in an extraordinary adventure for ten days, an adventure that will expand their horizons physically speaking, as well as on a cultural and emotional level.
Some of them will have had to overcome their natural reserve which dictates that one does not communicate with ones neighbour. They will have been bold enough to believe that you just need to get involved and be enthusiastic.
They will be the Peace Sailors, bearing a message of hope to the Mediterranean, which will have a wide impact universally.
Mediterranean representatives
This project is for 96 young people aged between 18 and 25 years old, girls and boys, coming from countries around the Mediterranean. They will have been selected according to their ability to quickly grasp the essentials of prevention and conflict management initiatives; become mediators and set up training modules in their organisations. These young people will be members of national scouting organisations recognised by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) or members of partner organisations involved in this operation, namely the European Youth Forum and the Mediterranean Youth Forum. They will thus be the embodiment of considerable geographical, cultural and religious diversity.
